In 2017 The Lord began to speak to us about planting a church.
We had a home group that met every week which quickly grew from a handful to fifty strong. We began to see the number 11 11 everywhere and after much prayer and seeking the Lord, someone gave us the prophetic word that 11 11 was Deuteronomy 11:11. This passage says, “But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven.”
So, on the 11th February 2018 we launched Glory City Melbourne with around 40-50 regular people in a back yard in Park Orchards.
What began as Glory City Melbourne, in 2021 became The Sanctuary as we felt God’s invitation to change the name and forge our own path. Again, after much prayer and discussion we came across Hebrews 8:2, “a minister in the sanctuary and in the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man”. Just like this, the Lord is building this house and has pitched this Sanctuary, not man.
We have seen incredible favour from the Lord over the years and have weathered some storms too. We know God has got us here for a reason and that reason is to Know Him and make Him Known across the Lilydale region. We are a family on mission to see His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
